Edbiz has a range of Train the Trainer courses designed for people who are actively involved as Adult Educators, Tutors or Workplace Trainers.
Our Train the Trainer courses can provide you with the skills, knowledge and practices that you will need to plan, deliver, assess and evaluate effective teaching or training sessions to your adult learners or staff.
All of our short train the trainer courses will benefit those who use the workshops as a professional development session. All of our courses also have an on the job practical component which leads to the development of a portfolio of work which will be assessed against specific NZQA unit standards.
We have designed our Train the Trainer courses to provide the training and learning for a series of integrated unit standards that lead to the National Certificate in Adult Education and Training Level 4.
How do I enrol or organise a train the trainer course?
Summary of our Train the Trainer Courses:
Train the Trainer – (Units: 19444 | 7115 | 7091 | 20469)
This 3 day course will cover the processes required to plan, facilitate and evaluate effective training sessions for adult learners. This course is suitable for all who are involved in training adult learners in a Workplace or Training Centre environment.
Train the trainer can be a stand-alone course (Completion Certificate) or participants can complete the on job assessments required to gain the unit standards.
Most ITO and NZQA Providers require their teaching staff to be training towards or hold the National Certificate in Adult Education and Training (Level 4, 40 credits) as a minimum qualification. Choose from our other short course to complete the national certificate.
This 3 day train the trainer course forms the ‘compulsory’ element or platform for you to go on and achieve your National certificate in Adult Education and Training Level 4. (Nat Cert Adult Ed L4) (Contributes 21 credits towards the 40)
Workplace Trainer – Deliver On Job Training (Units: 7103 | 7108)
This 1 day course can follow on from the Train the Trainer Course. You will learn how to conduct a needs assessment and gap analysis and how to train people in the workplace in a 1 on 1 or small group situation. The training leads to an on job assessment for unit standards 7103 and 7108.
Nat Cert Adult Ed L4 note: This is an Elective Course selected by those who are training adults within a workplace situation. (Contributes 12 credits towards the 40)
Adult Educator – Deliver Effective Presentations (Unit: 7096)
This 1 day course can follow on from the Train the Trainer Course. You will learn how to conduct deliver effective presentations to groups of adults. The training leads to an on job assessment for unit standard 7096.
Nat Cert Adult Ed L4 note: This is an Elective Course selected by those who are training adults within a NZQA Provider or large workplace environment with potentially large groups of participants. (Contributes 8 credits towards the 40)
Assessor Training (Units: 4098 | 11281)
This 1 day course will provide you with the required Assessor qualification to assess NZQA unit standard within your NZQA Provider or you can register as a Workplace Assessor with your ITO.
You will learn how to plan, prepare yourself and your candidates and conduct assessments against NZQA unit standards. The training leads to an on job assessment for unit standard 4098 and 11281.
Nat Cert Adult Ed L4 note: This is a compulsory course for either Workplace Trainer or NZQA Provider tutors. (Contributes 9 credits towards the 40)
Refresher Courses & Assessment of Prior Learning
Edbiz can provide 3 hour refresher courses for any of our Assessor or Train the trainer short courses. A refresher course can be followed by our Assessment of Prior Learning process where participants produce an on job portfolio which will be assessed against a range of Adult Education unit standards.
Suitable for those who have completed training or have experience but have not achieved the unit standards they require by their NZQA Provider, Workplace or ITO.
How can I enrol in an Edbiz – Train the Trainer Course?
We have two delivery options for our courses:
1. We can come to your Workplace or,
2. You can come to one of our scheduled training days.
A Workplace or NZQA Provider can contact us and we will come to your place to deliver the courses. There are minimum numbers or we can organise a day rate with you.
As each course can be customised for a specific context, NZQA Provider or Workplace, we ask that you contact us to discuss what you need before we can provide a quote for our services. We intend on integrating any specific organisation requirements you may have into your train the trainer courses.
